NOTE: Due to recent spread of RHDV2 in the United States (it hasn't been reported here yet) and the threat of food security issues related to Covid-19, we will not be offering any of our rabbits for sale for the foreseeable future (unless you have already been promised a rabbit- those of you that are waiting have been contacted and know who you are). Thank you for your understanding. We will re-evaluate the situation in August and will keep you updated accordingly.
Grimm's Farms Sales Policy
Updated 5/1/2020
Please read our sales policy before agreeing to buy a rabbit. By purchasing a rabbit from Grimm’s Farms, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the following terms.
The rabbits sold are sold as show rabbits, livestock/brood rabbits, meat rabbits, or pets. The following terms and definitions apply:
Show rabbits- a show rabbit shall be defined as a rabbit that is showable, meaning it contains no disqualifications per the ARBA standard of perfection for that breed. I make no guarantee that any animal purchased from my rabbitry will do well at show. All rabbits sold as show rabbits will be tattooed prior to sale and a pedigree will be given with the rabbit at the time of sale.
Livestock/brood rabbits- a livestock or brood rabbit shall be defined as a rabbit that may have some faults according to the breed standard, or may not be able to be shown for various reasons, but MAY be useful to a breeding program. I make no guarantee that any animal purchased will breed, will produce quality offspring, or will be useful to any breeding program. All livestock/brood animals will be tattooed prior to sale and a pedigree will be given with the rabbit at the time of sale.
Meat rabbits- meat rabbits shall be defined as rabbits having a “meat type.” They are not able to be shown and are not recommended for show breeding. They may be useful as meat breeders. I make no guarantee that any animal will be useful to a meat breeding program or will be safe for consumption. Rabbits sold as meat rabbits will not be tattooed and will not come with a pedigree.
Pet Rabbits- pet rabbits shall be defined as rabbits intended to be kept as a pet. I make no guarantee on the temperament of any animal or any guarantee that any animal will be useful for pet breeding. Rabbits sold as pets will not be tattooed and will not come with a pedigree.
Disclaimer: I do not guarantee that ANY animal sold will do well at show. I do not guarantee the fertility of any animal. I do not guarantee the temperament of any animal. I do not guarantee that any animal is safe for consumption.
I check the sex of the rabbit purchased before it leaves at the time of sale. It is the duty of the purchaser to check and guarantee that the rabbit is of the correct sex at the time of sale. I do not exchange rabbits for incorrect sex.
Health and Safety: To the best of my knowledge, all of my animals are healthy at the time of sale. I will not sell any animal with visible signs of infection, or other visible illness. For the safety of my rabbits and my rabbitry, I do not accept the return of any rabbit sold. Once it leaves my barn, I cannot guarantee what it has been exposed to. For the safety of my stock, I will not accept returns.
Pedigrees: You do not need a pedigree to show a rabbit at an ARBA or 4H show, however your rabbit does need a left ear tattoo. All rabbits sold as show rabbits or livestock/brood rabbits will come with at least a partial pedigree. Most of them come with full pedigrees. Pedigree is provided at the time of sale and is included in the price of the animal. If your rabbit has been bred, a certificate containing the buck’s information will also be provided at the time of sale.
Holds: I will hold a rabbit for you for no more than 7 days with a 50% non-refundable deposit. Deposit must be made with cash, paypal, or Venmo. The rabbit will not be considered “held” until the deposit is made and will remain “for sale” up until that point. If your rabbit has not been picked up within 7 days, you forfeit the rabbit and any deposit made on it. A deal may be reached for special circumstances, at my discretion.
Transportation is the sole responsibility of the buyer. If you would like to purchase an animal, you will be responsible for arranging transport. However, I am willing to meet along routes that I travel anyways, at shows that I am already attending, or within a reasonable distance from Frontenac, KS.
Pricing: Price is determined by body type, coloring, and quality. I accept payment through cash, paypal, or venmo. A receipt will be provided at the time of sale.
Show rabbits: $50 and up, depending on pedigree & quality
Livestock/Brood rabbits: $50-150, depending on pedigree and quality.
Meat Rabbits: by weight- $3 per lb live weight until they reach 5 lb. after 5 lb, bucks are $15 and does are $20 regardless of weight. Once they reach age, or are proven breeders, bucks are $20 and does are $25. This makes it simpler and actually a bit cheaper.
Pet rabbits: $50 and under
Discounts will be given for 4H, FFA, or other Youth programs. Discount is 25% off of the listed sale price, or meat price for rabbits sold to youth without pedigrees.
Rabbits under 8 weeks/waitlisting: If you are interested in future litters, or rabbits from litters that are under 8 weeks of age, please contact me and I will make note of your information. When rabbits are ready, or when I have rabbits that meet your needs, I will contact you. Rabbits under 8 weeks of age may not be sold and will not be put on “hold.”
I reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone for any reason. Additionally, I reserve the right to cancel a sale based on violation of the sales agreement. I am not responsible for any damages that may occur as a result of purchasing an animal from my rabbitry.
Thank you for your support! I am reasonable, therefore, if you need me to work with you on a situation, please ask me about it! I am willing to work with you, but I will not be taken advantage of.
